Buffs
Maximum buff slots: 36.
You have 32 buff slots by default and can unlock 4 additional slots by learning Divine Inspiration, increasing the total to 36.
All buffs last 1 hour, or 2 hours with a Premium Account.
You can get all buffs for free from the NPC Buffer or through the Community Board (Alt+B). The Community Board buffer can only be used in peace zones unless you have the Book of Buff, which allows you to buff yourself anywhere in the game world.
Hot Springs buffs are also available from the NPC Buffer.
You can purchase the Book of Buff with Adena or through donations to use the Community Board buffer anywhere in the game world.

Quests Rates
How quest rates work
There are two types of boosts: [Drop xN] increases the chance to get quest items from monsters, while [Reward xN] multiplies the quest reward after turn-in.
Important: Drop xN multiplies the base chance – it does NOT mean you always get N items. Every full 100% gives 1 guaranteed item, the remainder is an extra chance for one more.
Effective chance = base_chance × N, guaranteed = floor(effective/100%), extra chance = effective % 100%.
- Base 40% with Drop x5 ⇒ 40%×5 = 200% ⇒ 2 items guaranteed.
- Base 25% with Drop x5 ⇒ 25%×5 = 125% ⇒ 1 item guaranteed + 25% chance for a second.
- Base 40% with Drop x8 ⇒ 40%×8 = 320% ⇒ 3 items guaranteed + 20% chance for a fourth.
